Chumley & I made the drive to the trailhead in about two inches of fresh powder. We hit the snow covered trail and headed up. We had a really nice time hiking in the snow and it was easy keeping on the route. We had some route finding challenges higher up but Chumley did well to keep us on track.
With some effort, we topped out and headed to the viewpoint on the north side of the mountain. You could see for miles and I had very good Verizon service. After a few minutes, we started our descent and that went really well. Some of the snow had melted and it was just about all downhill. Once done, we drove over to the Nampaweap Rock Art. From there, we left the area and got a hotel in Kanab. Trumbull was a worthy hike and I’m glad we made the effort. It’s absolutely worth hiking if you’re in the area. |
