Steady 20 to 30 mph west winds (with higher gusts) were pushing showers down off the higher terrain toward the lower desert region. They were evaporating as they descended, but I still got blasted by a few rain bursts. Made for some great weather drama. 
Once I got far enough away from the mountains, the weather was drier and warmer, but the wind persisted. Stopped at a few places I like on the way out, mostly looking for flowers. I wasn't disappointed.
