After the marathon the day before I thought this hike was going to be grueling. I was pleasantly surprised that the majority of it wasn't. We started off by seeing a rattlesnake. Then we saw lots of thistle.

We took a nice break at the Agua Caliente drainage. There was a lot of shade from mature trees. A welcoming spot to hang out when it’s in the 90s. I almost didn’t want to leave.

After our break we met our friends a little over half way through the hike and exchanged keys. I was thankful not to have to do a car shuttle.

Then we hike up to the Molino saddle. From there I was in shock from the road noise. You don’t realize how quiet the backcountry until you are assaulted by the noise humans make with their machines. Our peace was disrupted and it made me whiny and grouchy for the rest of the hike. I tried to keep all that to myself. Luckily there was only about 3 miles to endure and we did that fairly quickly.

My friend returned to Mexico and I waited at home for the rest of our group to finish so we could swap cars back and have dinner.
