| no partners | | I met some cavers from France when I was at the Mexican Cave Congress, so I asked them to take me caving! They took me to a show cave but we were able to go off the tourist trail and see the entire cave. It was clear that this was a privilege not allowed to all cavers. I was told that this is one of the pretties caves in the South of France.
The first part of the cave had a cement path. After that we climbed over the rail and there was a marked path/trail to reduce damage to the cave. In scramble spots hand lines were in place to help.
My ‘guide’ was Annie. Her and her partner take amazing Cave photos. They had worked in conjunction with the cave owners and produced an amazing coffee table book of photos from the cave. I was given a hard copy of it the night before my trip. Some of the photos can be found at: https://www.philippe-crochet.com/galeri ... e-clamouse
There were 4 of us in the trip: Annie, Serge, Bea, and me. Afterwards they took me for a fabulous lunch in a tiny village where we were joined by Philip the photographer. |
