john, fletch and i got out of town this morning for a fourth of july hike on picketpost
the last two years we've hiked south mountain on the fourth, so this was an upgrade
67 and low humidity at the trailhead, starting around 0520
passed a big group on the way up
two guys at the summit
spent a few minutes admiring the 360 degree views and taking a few photos
i love this hike; it's been a couple years
headed back down still mostly in the shade
buckboard city café was closed, so we found a hole-in-the-wall place in apache junction for breakfast: hacker's grill
fun times and home by mid-morning - nice :)
