| no partners | | This is one of those spots that has always caught my eye on the map. I finally made an effort to visit.
It's not a terribly exciting hike, but it features some pretty good rewards: a quarry, well-constructed pile of rocks, gravesite, three separate benchmarks, unique infrastructure, top-notch views in 360 degrees, and some historic buildings around the base.
FR 34/SR 99 is a dirt highway, and it only took about half an hour to get here from the rim. So while it's a bit out of the way and I wouldn't come up here just for this, it's not a bad way to spend a few hours if you're in the general vicinity anyway. |
