| no partners | | | Fall colors last hurrah! Woke up to the forecasted snow. Got kids to school hit my OT appt. and about the time I was ready to go snow was accumulating. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but hoped for good color. Temp had dropped to 15 degrees, so I had layers which I shed on the way up to the trail head. I wore my winter boots and hiked mostly in a goose down vest and primaloft hat.there were no other tracks on the trail and ran into no one until descending. Broke trail entire way 4 “ inches on the way up 6” above 9000’. Took Ring the peak all the way to Crystal Creek Reservoir and took a side trail back to Mt. Moredecci on the way back making a lasso loop. This trail was pretty difficult between snow and all the piles of dead trees that have yet to be burned. I may have made a loop and found my tracks in the snow before getting oriented and reaching Moredecci. It didn’t help snowing being overcast and foggy. Great contrast beteeen snow and fall colors. Everything looks better with snow. |
