| no partners | | A great half day hike, especially during the fall, which this year has been quite pleasant so far (only 2 snow events on the peaks so far). I was able to complete this hike in about 3 hours and 30 minutes, with around 30 of those minutes for breaks. I used about 40 oz of water, but I think very avid hikers could probably get this hike done with around 20-30 oz of water. Much of the trail was very well maintained with some large steps here and there on the very steep slopes, along with some washed out areas also there.
There were a few trail runners on this trail when I started to ascend the steep areas, which kind of surprised me. One even seemed to be running without any water, and I thought my hike up Navajo Mountain and back down with 2 small water bottles was extreme ha.
Unfortunately, there was no big foot sightings on this trail  , nor any deer or elk, nor alien abductions  . There were some fall leaves in the trees though, but mainly in the lower beginning of the trail. There was also some people hiking with their dogs, which was very cool to see. I even saw a small butterball looking house dog making his way down happily with his owners when I was about half way up.
If I were to do this hike again, I think I'd take my cat with me, and get some awesome Catventure pictures. This be a cool night hike to do with some other people, but probably during the late spring, summer, or early fall, because I'd rather be eating a warm pie than freeze my glutes off. |

Some of the oak trees still had some fall leaves on them, but most of them were already dropped especially at the higher elevations. |
