I had contemplated climbing up there to find this cache, but in the end I opted for a fun drive through Bulldog Canyon. I decided to come back out today and try to find this one. I parked at the wash crossing and made my way uphill until I was forced to turn north and pick my way up and around to the summit. The tippy top tuned out to be not much of a top at all, with long drops on either side. Great views, of course. On the way back down, I spotted a cave a detoured to check it out. The cave looked more like an excavation up close. It went back in about 20 feet and a smaller crack continued on into the heart of the mountain. Cool area, love the Goldfields. |
