This hike was supposed to be the grand finale of my trip. I ended up reversing my vacation route, and this became the first hike.
With 1300 ft elevation to go, my pup cut her back paw jumping around chasing wildlife. This would have been a good time to turn around... Instead, I started carrying her. The next hour was very slow going. I ended up off trail, and running low on water, so I turned around. I should have turned around a lot sooner.
Over all this is a great trail. I saw a lot of deer, wild horses and smaller wildlife. I will attempt it again.
