Guadalupe Peak had been on my radar for some time. I usually have my dogs with me, so I'm not allowed to hike this trail. This trip, the pups had to stay home.
I was fortunate enough to get an early start. There where a lot of people heading up the trail as I was heading down. They where struggling. I couldn't imagine hiking up in 95 degree weather. I did hike out to the campsite on the was down. It was about a mile from the summit. I was planning on doing one of the shorter trails at the bottom of the mountain, but I ran out of time. I ended up stopping and talking to a lot of people on the way down. Over all its a great trail. Just becareful, there isn't any shade! |
