Ash Creek-Bassett Peak 2002 (aka Deborah's Big Adventure)

I have been sitting on this photoset for a long time and finally decided this was a good time to post it, and give some details about the hike and aftermath. I didn't get any photos from the peak, but the big draw for me is the fall colors anyway. We all had a great time on the hike, and though Deb and Steve joined up with us high up, they said they were doing their own thing, and we said our goodbyes to them at the peak and didn't think anything of it. But late in the afternoon an alarmed Steve had raced down the trail and caught up with us nearly back to the cars. He said he got separated from Deb coming off the peak and couldn't find her!

So that changed the mood of the day pretty quick.

The rest of what happened is covered in the last photos of my set, which I excerpted from the official SAHC bulletin of events post hike. Fortunately, there was a happy ending to the ordeal the next day. :yes:
