| partners | | This one has been on my list a little while now, as I’ve been working on a Top 40 Tucson area peaks list. Today was ideal weather to take a partial day to go out to Rail X and bag this peak. Went with a friend who got off work early today.
Followed the double track amd them the wash up the north edge of the mine and then up to Jeffords. There is a very interesting hill just beyond the mine you walk around with several lines of rock jutting out of it, from one side to the other.
Lots of spotty burn from this summer’s fire out there, cleared out a lot of the grasses mostly, all the way up to the top of Jeffords.
Nice peak, enjoyed the 360 perspective from up there. Surprised to see the stick still sticking out of the rocks, as described in the trip description. Register was an empty Jif bottle hidden under some rocks next to the stick. Surprised to see some old loose pages still in there signed in 2002.
Decided to hike down the ridgeline to the northeast. |
