| no partners | | In addition to the Calloway Trail, there are three other trails in the area which allow access from the south rim down into this gorgeous section of West Clear Creek. Upstream, one can descend the trail at the end of Road #142E (passenger car drivable all the way to the end). Downstream, you can use the lightly used trails at the ends of either Road #142A or the jeep trail that goes past Cash Tank towards Buckhorn Mtn (very rough approaches, high clearance 4x4 required, probably faster just to hike it). Mountain bike shuttling is another option. In any case its well worth the effort, as you'll enjoy miles of lush creek, soaring sandstone walls, and wading and swimming in cool, clear water. |
