I did meet a couple that was training for the Arizona Trail. Sounds like a great trip. They said it would take the planned 2 months. Have fun and good luck!! That would take me six months!! 
When I reach the top of the Canyon trail I usually head west or take the bypass to Gila. Today I took Bursera east, which has been months since I have taken It all the way down. I can tell it has been heavily traveled with all the loose rock. It almost looks like somebody dumped gravel on it in places!! The loop hike makes for a great leisurely hike. Great day for a hike!!
