| partners | | Bees Knees is a catchy and interesting name for a hike ,the term went out of date when I was in high school though, now I’m very excited today about hiking with the popular kids From the beginning I suggested this hike be called the rose between two thorns expedition , that garnered a mixed mostly negative reaction. However just to reassure everyone the delicate and fragrant rose was indeed safely escorted around this loop without losing a petal , thanks to the expert guide @LindaAnn thorn and the conductor @tibber thorn. After the ruins stop and workout of Lost Ranch Ruins Trail the view from peak 2197 was quite nice . Then up to National on a portion I had hiked before now realizing how oblivious to the mines I had been ,again thanks to Linda making the trail more interesting. Beginning to get the feel for the western end of South Mountain ,first time hitting bursera canyon trail. Nice to have Angela pointing out the names of various flowers and trees wish I could retain some of that. I did have some secret advice for her also, never hike the day before a Linda hike It was warming up as we finished the hike on the newly named Linda’s Trail , well that’s what Angela and I will be calling it, taking us back to the trailhead. My privilege to hike with these awesome and accomplished ladies. |
