| no partners | | Drove from Emigrant Campground to Beatty, NV for fuel and a good breakfast at Mel's. I aimed to get through Titus and over to Mesquite Springs Campground before the rain started. This drive is awesome. The Amargosa Mountains are beautiful.
Leadfield was interesting enough for a brief stop. Also stopped to check out the petroglyph site. The boulder was scratched to hell so some of the authentic glyphs were hard to identify. A shame but I'm not at all surprised.
I arrived at Mesquite Spring, got the tent set up, and it started to come down just as I threw on the rain cover. I had a good chuckle at the timing before hunkering down for the next few hours. The storm broke early in the evening, creating a gorgeous sunset. |
