Since we will soon not have a car available and we live on the west side now today was a good time for my first trip to the Tres Rios Wetlands. I arrived shortly before 8 this morning and set out on my way. I was walking on what is part of the Maricopa Trail. The water and tall reeds followed along on my right. The Estrella mountains loomed to my left. I saw what I would later find out were Northern Harriers flying on two occasions. A first time sighting for me. I eventually came to the wetlands that were open to the public. I went down the northern most trail for a bit before turning around and heading back to the car. As the morning went on there were more hikers and birders about. I enjoyed my foray very much.
