| no partners | | Annually the world unites on June 21st to hit the trails in the most natural way possible.
Such activities aren't really my thing, but life gets boring if you're not open to trying new things, so I responded to an invite affirmatively and packed up all the things I wouldn't need to bring.
Like most things in life, respecting others is a good rule, so we found a nice swath of desert where it would be unlikely to encounter anybody not participating in the holiday. Cloudy skies helped reduce the need for sunscreen, (though there were plenty of offers to help apply!) and provided some nice summit views for sunset.
Can't say I'll celebrate again next year, but I didn't die this year, and have no lasting eye damage, so I guess that's a good thing. 
Forgot to mention: an eagle sighting! He was no balder than any other time I’ve seen him! |
