| no partners | | After a disappointing drive up the 67 to Cripple Creek decided to hike locally and cancelled my plans to trail run Dome Rock because of this years poor fall color showing on the back side of Pikes Peak. Not sure if hot temps or dry summer is to blame, but they were more than lame. Most of the tres haven’t changed and are drying out despite being green. I’ve Seen pics from last week of Breck and Crested Butte and they look pretty good. Part of it is weather, but part of it is kids weekend sports cross country, lacrosse, and volleyball so we’ll probably miss them the next couple years. Weather was nice had to hike far and wide through the neighborhood trails to find any color at all. Hit a lot of areas I haven’t been to in awhile as I’ve mostly been running lately helping coach cross country and barely have time to get a hike in with all the weekly practices and after school activities. It was nice to get out. Didn’t see a soul except for two people who started up the Moredecci trail I was on and quickly realizing it was not the correct trail and turning around. |
