breakfast at the chuckwagon across the street
couldn't get a second night at the torrey trading post, so we packed up before heading to capitol reef
we decided to just go to the rim overlook on the navajo knobs trail, which starts from the hickman bridge trailhead along highway 24
steady ascent on slickrock, gaining a high point on the cliff just north of fruita
great views of fruita and the waterpocket fold from the overlook
the navajo knobs trail continues...next time
after the hike we had another little picnic in the green space near the fremont river - nice
then went to find our cabin at thousand lakes rv park
made coffee and relaxed for the afternoon
dinner was right there at torrey grill & bbq
delicious ribs and tri-tip  |
