On a clear day you can see forever. Today was that kind of day. I could see downtown Phoenix like it was next door.

I parked at the Pass Mountain trailhead to avoid the Wind Cave congestion. Jumped on the Pass Mountain speedway shortly after 10am, hoping my later start would result in fewer hikers. It did. There were long stretches where I didn’t see anyone.

The weather could not have been better. Cool temperature, nice breeze and a clear blue sky.
