| | | The hike was a great choice. It exceeded my expectations. The Boulder Creek/AZT #21 section was first rate. The grind up and over Boulder Pass (and back) left my knees sore, but it was quite fun nonetheless. The Boulder Bob's Cabin area was simply awesome. "Builder Bob" might be a better name; that guy was busy. The early settlers were definitely a hardy lot. I didn't see much of the mine - I was the last one in and the first out when word of a twitchy resident trickled back. JJ and LP did some extended exploration above the mine shaft. The rest of us moved on, but they move like the wind and quickly rejoined the group.
We took some forest roads back to the trailhead. This afforded us all some side-by-side time to catch up. Bruce kept his teasing in check for the most part, but when he stepped over the line, Linda was quick to put him in his place. Nice to see @Dave1 again.
It was a great time. I couldn't think of a better way to ring in the New Year. |
