Morning hike/trail run on the pass mountain loop. Got out a little later than normal, which meant a full parking area. Lots of folks enjoying the season where it’s still nice at the edges of the day.

There was a huge swarm of bees at the saddle. Luckily, they were off the trail a bit. It they seemed to be in quite the frenzy.

Later on in the loop, I hurdled a diamondback sitting in the middle of the trail and perfectly camouflaged in a little patch of shade. I think I caught him by surprise as well, as he was not rattling or in a defensive pose, until I stopped to take a couple of photos.

As between the snake and the bees, the bees made me more nervous.
