| no partners | | Took Soldier Pass Trail to the branch that leads up to the three arches. We hiked up to the arches and played around in them. The trail up to the first arch was impeded by fallen trees, so until those are clear, make sure that you take the left branch of the trail.
There was still snow on the ground in patches and the trail still had several muddy spots. Most of it had dried out enough that it made a cushy trail - not muddy enough to stick to your shoes, but just wet enough to cushion your steps. Nice!
It was overcast until we came down, and that made for a beautiful day with great light for picture taking.
The manzanita were flowering and I've never seen that before - they look like little bleeding hearts! |
