I took the Old Post Trail for .45 miles and then hopped on the Carroll Canyon. This trail stays in a canyon for most of its duration so distant views are minimal. The trail actually joined the Ridge Trail, before going it’s separate way. The trail was flat or had a nice gentle descent for the first mile. There was a little bit of a climb as you left the canyon (1.03) and then a roller coaster as you approached the Old Post Trail. The Carroll Canyon Trail ended at 1.85 (2.3 total). Then took the Old Post Trail back to the TH for a 4 mile hike.
Weather was perfect. Probably in the 70’s for the whole hike. Caught a glimpse of a coyote, but otherwise no wildlife. Encountered 7 hikers and 2 bikers. Hope to get enough data to a trail description on this hike. |
