| no partners | | Started on trail 4 and overshot my breakoff spot by a lot. After seeing 2 deer and 2 creek crossings I looked and realized I missed my turnoff. Instead of a nice ridgeline, I had nice shrubs. Instead of a clean shot, I had to hop a barbed wire fence. Overall, it worked out with more off trail and more creek. Once on top, I found out this was Bob Moore's 64th peak of 2022 and 1,291 overall. He called himself an old fart. There are much better ways to gain this peak, but I'm glad I did it my way(in my Frank voice). Next up USLM 318. I always assumed USLM stood for US Land Management. US Location monuments and also a stock trading on the NASDAQ. After climbing above the prospect, I headed for USLM 318. Also, figured out a new route to cool peak and QSM. My phone battery was dying again, so I stopped recording with RS and activated my garmin watch hence the difference in mileage and aeg compared to the posted route. My down route was iffy and I would probably never venture that way again. I can post that route for anyone who enjoys pain. Overall fun day and 2 goals achieved. |
