The weather was perfect for this hike. Read the trip report below.

The above was my triplog from almost 16 years ago. Since there isn't a Black Mesa triplog below, here it goes. I scraped together 3 $1 bills from my wife's bingo stash. I should have invited Joey on this one as there was a quilting competition going on in the parking lot. I wore long pants for the first mile or so along with a long shirt. Didn't need either but wish I had a hiking stick. Started sometime about 8amish but not exactly sure. Started on the same trail as my failed Sugarloaf attempt. I saw the easy way but I'm still gonna take a stab at the way I went the other day. Sometimes, you remember parts of hikes and sometimes you don't. This was mostly trail for the first 3-4 miles and then your options open up. I followed the trail until it didn't make sense to me. A more direct route shaved off some mileage with little agony. I was sitting on top enjoying the views in about 3 and a halfish hours. I enjoyed 2 fried drummies and some water for lunch. I took a more direct route down and needed to back track a bit to avoid some nasty stuff. About 1pmish, I ran into a friend from Black mtn. who was working on the spring pump and I hung out for about a half hour. There was beer involved as they had horseback rode in the 3ish miles to that point. Czeh Pilsner and Coors. Met Terry who made the cool trail junction rocks out there. All in all a good day, and my first hike over 10 miles in forever.
