We hiked in the morning and had a breeze for most of the hike. For such a close location to the city we were surprised to have seen no one on the trail the entire time. We saw some people riding horses down by the canal as we were on our way out, but other than that, glorious solitude. One problem we had was that we had no idea where any of the trails went, so we ended up slipping and sliding down a hillside with loose footing just to have to climb back up it a few minutes later. I would go back to explore more of the forks that we didn't have the chance to try out this time. This would be a great hike to do when you are fed up with crowds at other locations. |
