I arrived at the trailhead a little after 10 AM. They are currently doing work on the bridge right by the Horton trailhead so you can’t park there and you need to start on the Derrick trail and cut across to the Horton. It was almost chilly when I started but an hour into the hike, it was perfect. I had a short stay at the spring and then made my way back on the Derrick.
