| no partners | | Another hike up this cool little mountain for me. When I need a quick hike with great views and a little bit of a workout, this is always my choice. Close to my house, nice elevation gain and 360 views.
I arrived to a mostly empty trailhead and started up in the dark. I could see some nice clouds overhead and was hoping that translated to a vibrant sunrise.
I made ok time to the top, just just a few stops for pictures (and huffing and puffing breaks). The sky look very promising and I could already see some colors in the distance.
This little peak is always a treat. Sunrise, sunset, anytime, really.
I had the place to myself the entire time on top and came across my first humans near the bottom of the trail on the way back down. I've seen some crowds along this one, so I will take solitude anytime. Not much better than watchin the sun rise over desert mountains. The color show was nice as well.
Just after Mr Sun made his appearance, the low clouds put an end to the sunshine and I started back down. The trailhead was packed with mountain bikers when I arrived at my truck. Perfect weather the entire time. |
