The USFS is now enforcing the forest order banning overnight camping and campfires in the Beaver Creek area from the end of the Beaver Creek campground (it is open) to 5 MILES upstream. That is about 1 mile upstream from the swimming hole known as "The Crack" The closure actually went into effect back in November but the USFS lacked funds and manpower for signage and enforcement. The "No Camping / Campfire" signs are posted at the trailhead and along the Bell Trail. The forest service was out on the trail today in a service truck looking for campers. I saw them remove some overnighters just upstream from the gauging station off the Wier Trail. Those campers were NOT happy. Here is the forest order link and closure order. The closure order is on the closure page, third from bottom.
