First time on the Ranger trail. Hiked as part of a loop starting at Telegraph Pass , west on the National, down the Ranger, east on Los Lomitas, up the Kiwanis, and back down Telegraph. The upper part of the Ranger is a nice narrow trail with a steady grade along steep slopes leading up the Gila range and Goat Hill. Not much to look at along the trail except the surrounding mountains and Phoenix. Didn't see anyone until I got near the top of Kiwanis. Starting early has its advantages. ;)
