Enjoyable hike. It has distance, elevation gain, and cool scenery. Good work out hike. I didn't know you could hike to Tom's Thumb from this location. Thought you needed a four wheel drive vehicle to get to the trailhead. Guess I could have looked at a map

or checked trailDEX a little closer. The spring on the way up is flowing strong. Amazing to see water in such a dry area, especially without significant rainfall in about four months.
