| no partners | | This is a beautiful hike that I did with my dog mid September. Much more lush vegetation than I expected for Prescott. I'm just going to add a few things to the description.
The description is not kidding when it states "Poacher's Row road comes to an abrupt end on forest service land". You pretty much feel like you're parking on someone's land if your car is even small enough to fit. The section at mile 1.9 has been pretty overgrown & if it weren't for my dog I'm unsure I would've found it on the way back down from the road.
The forest ranger was up in the tower & showed me the surrounding peaks & fire towers. He apparently lives in the cabin year round that is at the base of the tower. There is a helipad near the fire tower that allows for good pictures. It would be an awesome spot for viewing meteor showers. |
