| no partners | | | Very cool slot canyons. Had to take off my pack in order to squeeze through certain areas that were about 1 foot wide. I ascended through little painted canyon. Some ropes are already in place for 2 climbs (12 - 20 feet each). In one area I had to crawl underneath a large boulder wedged between the canyon walls. Exited this canyon to the right and traveled down well marked trail until arriving at clearly marked trail to the right. Descended into Ladder Canyon. As name implies, someone put ladders in areas where a downclimb is required. Aluminum ladders in good condition. Have to climb around a rock slide blocking the trail and then back into the Painted Canyon. Another 1/4 mile and the loop is complete. |
