A bad start to the day as I inadvertently locked my keys and all of my gear in my pickup. As the others were getting ready to hike, I tried a hack I'd seen once to unlock my truck. By the time everyone had loaded up the champagne, cookies and chocolate covered strawberries, I managed to pop the lock and get my stuff. Perfect timing! 
Nice, fun hike up to the top of the mesa. We popped the corks, distributed glasses and goodies, and raised our glasses as Pam said a toast to ring in the new year.
Afterwards we wandered north in the fog towards the black cross. As we wandered, the rain decided to show up. Not too bad, but we had to cover up or get wet.
Back down the way we came.
Fun day hiking in the elements. The constantly shifting fog kept things interesting. One minute you can't see a thing, the next you're oohing and aahing at the views.
Good seeing y'all again. Nice meeting Diane and Todd, though we all thought we'd met somewhere before.
