Nice bunch of hikers signed up for this easier outing... true Beginners Hike on a real trail.

I notice that my Descriptions "To Do" list is getting close to 100... Guess I'll plan for x2 per week in 2016? 2017 I plan to hike all of the area routes, starting on the north end of town... working my way south... x5 days weekly, x2 routes each day? Summer I may shift up to the top of the mountain. There are probably 100 additional hikes to document up there... maybe more. Once I get all the hikes on to HAZ I need to develop a dedicated local format... Hardcopy and GPS oriented. Lots to do!

Nice to see the wells, however going up the Jeep road is tedious. Good hike to take visitors from out of town on. Can enjoy the Indian Wells and still visit with friends or family.

Easier Beginner's hike today... morning of running a jackhammer and shovel makes the easy out/back sound appealing.

These wells are always a mystery to see and enjoy. The trailhead can be a bit difficult to find. Be sure to go a bit past the wash for more wells hidden in the scrubs.

First day of August's month of GPS tracking...

Rain and very low cloud cover (within 500' elevation gain hey were below me!)... dead air and muggy. But, all in all a very nice morning. In addition to the trails I planned to cover, I added one new route and another set on the other end of town.

Secondary goal each day is to hit somewhere around the 4,000'AEG mark... so, do the various tracking hikes then hit the "A" trail for elevation lap to round out that part of the day.

Or... go hit a route I need a GPS track on; that's what I did today: Alamo Point... Cave Canyon. Pleasant surprise to find a real Trailhead sign down in Alamo Canyon; About time!!

Home: downloaded GPS Tracks... got them edited on my Map. downloaded 150 pictures; edited and organized with an additional organizational twist that may make it easier to load them to HAZ and Google+ (...Picasa not syncing with Google+ lately...?)

Have not made it to the odds and ends: Map link edits, Map ridge route edits... Map cropping?

Also: I need to load pics to HAZ; I'll do that right after I submit a new trail description...

Then, there is the task of getting the GPS routes on to the HAZ site... nice if I could just finish the Map and send it over all at once!

One day down... 30 to go?

just Terri and one other hiker for the Friday outing, so we got to add in some exploratory and an additional loop... then, up the "A"... and some trail work. I may have the bottom 1.3 miles finished by the end of next week! Then, move the tools to the peak and work my way back down the top couple of miles!

Bunch of high school students training on the trail? Odd.

I guess this end the first week of February... and I should have checked on my AEG more carefully... think I may be a bit low... slightly off target for the week. Maybe I'll revise my goal for the month and make each week progressive? Might be more fun... so, next week: 5K per day?

Interesting to discover this pleasant ramble right here on the edge of town... the official trail leaves a bit to be desired, but approaching from the off trail wash, and finishing up with the winding drainage crossings to Mineral Springs trail... makes for a nice couple of hours...
