I’ve done most of the trails out here at one time or another, but I don’t think I’ve ever been on the Morning Vista.....if I’ve had it’s been a long time. Took the Black Hills trail to get to the Morning Vista. The Vista is not that far from the TH (via Black Hills... .6 miles), but I don’t think it gets a lot of use. It’s a narrow single track that descends gradually to the east. Not very long. Only about .8 miles from end to end. Had to back track a little once I reached the end to reconnect to the 136 Express trail. I would imagine that this is a great trail for biking as it is one of the more “twisty” trails out there. Nice for running as well. From there I took the Turpentine over to the Whiskey Bottle. It’s been years since I’ve been on the Turpentine. Solid single track. From the there took Whiskey Bottle back to the TH. Great loop! Weather was awesome with temps in the 50’s. Not much wildlife, except for quail....a lot of quail. |
