Got to the Courthouse Vista TH around 5am. Two cars already there! This was simply meant to be a short loop circling the Little Bell butte and it was, though maybe a little more convoluted than it had to be. It was too dark to see the trail signs so I ended up heading further south than I probably needed to and then I found out that the Little Bell isn't signed as well as I thought and/or wasn't the trail that I thought. Followed signs on the western side but they seemed to disappear about 3/5 around. I anticipated on this being a loop, but the trail signs did Nate bear this out. Made it a loop anyway. With the Sedona stone and minimal foliage it was easy enough to do. And it appeared that quite a few others had done so as well. Nice morning hike, though kind of muggy. Didn't see anyone while I was out, except for a photographer (tripod and all) on top of the Little Bell summit. No wildlife. |
