| no partners | | Went to the TH in the Sedona area that never fills up for a long run. Started on Woods Canyon trail for a mile or more, then headed up a social/cattle trail that heads up to the saddle opposite the draw from Hot Loop. This trail existed for most of the way up. Then down to Jacks Canyon TH, where I should have parked.
From there, I took Little Rock towards Bell Rock, with a nice detour down Old Man's Wash. Once on the Big Park loop I started seeing the tourists. Once I headed up Rektor Connector, the traffic wasn't as heavy. Took a little loop around Baby Bell, then headed east to close the loop around Courthouse Butte.
Then to Rabbit Ears for the longest climb of the day, and back down to Jacks Canyon TH. At this point I would've rather have been done, but still had to go 4 or so miles back to Woods Canyon TH, so I took some of the social trails around the north side of the mountain. These trails were easy to follow up to about a mile from the visitors center, where it pretty much faded. Probably because few people are silly enough to use that TH to access the trails from Jacks Canyon. |
