| no partners | | I set out to hike to this peak since it is the high point of the city of Mesa.
I parked at a pullout on E Thomas Rd, walked on a sidewalk on Hawes Rd, and then took a well maintained and well travelled trail up to the summit. There were some chairs at the summit and since it was a nice morning I hung out there for a while and enjoyed the nice views.
Then I reversed course and made an out-and-back hike out of this. |

| no partners | | Did a bike and hike. Started on the bike at Las Sendas and rode the Usery Loop (17 mi.). Then drove up to Hawes and knocked out some quick elevation gain on this summit. |

| no partners | | Quick evening hike to work off a frustrating college football game. . Just what the dr. ordered. Saw an adolescent dback on the way down. He was quite docile. Just hung out on the trail and eventually scooted off. Never rattled. |

| no partners | | Quick evening jaunt up the south summit trail. It was super windy once on the ridgeline, and time was short, so we turned back any of the summit. As always, this one provides great views of the nightlights of the east valley, plus good solitude. |

| no partners | | Another day of exploration on the Hawes trail system. Hit up some of the newly opened mountain biking trails, including Iron Goat and Cactus Nectar. Really impressed with some of the trail work. Shared the trail with a whole family of javelina. There was about a dozen of them. |
