We took the 302 to the 1A Loop, then the 302 back to the parking lot. Saw lots of baby lizards & doves, a fuzzy ant, 2 dogs and had a wonderful time.

My friend and I parked on 36th Street and followed 8B all the way to the 304, looped around into the parking lot and headed up the backside of the peak but on a trail I didn't know the number of. It ended up back at the second bench from Quartz Ridge. Anyway it was a beautiful evening, nice sunset and by the time we got back to the car the city lights were spectacular.

Did the first half of the 302 and cut across to 1A on the 304. Climbed some rocks, one face was real loose and we stopped. Lots of these small gray cactus with black spines, lots of quartz and lots of laughs! Great time - as always.

Beautiful moon! Went to hole in the rock. Haven't been on that side in a long time. Then checked out the tomb. We wandered aimlessly about the ponds and admired the skyline.

Awesome trail for beautiful desert. No people! Saw a desert tortoise and a deer, lots of birds and lizards. Did some rock climbing,too. Great day.

Love this trail! My girlfriends and I like to get to the top for the sunset and hike down in the moon light. Half way down, the moon started to rise and we met some other ladies who were sitting on one of the fire fighting boxes watching it. So we all hung out and watched the whole spectacular event. It was a full, bright yellow moon. Awesome to meet people on the trail and enjoy God's handy work together..

No apparent trail. We followed a game trail in and out of some foothills in the Santa Rita Valley below the Abbey. Very dry and thorny brush. We ended in a nice little wash for the last mile.

What a beautiful Trail it is. More of a walk than a hike, but very scenic. The road leading to the trailhead was a little rocky but we didn't need even a truck much less a 4 wheel drive. Lots of Pine trees and interesting plants along the way. We had my girlfriends two daughters with us; ages 7 & 10, so we took our time. We explored lots of side paths and did alot of rock climbing.

This was a hard but beautiful trail. The view at the top was spectacular! Well worth the effort. Pack a lunch though and plenty of water.
