on my most recent trip up echo canyon, i started around 6pm which is when things start getting fairly dark in the middle of december. rain kept us company on the way to the summit where we were rewarded with a break from the wetness as we sat in a cloud. just between us, i had a ring tailed cat hanging out with me at the summit.. didn't expect such a pretty creature to accompany me in the clouds!

Started hiking around 8am in Dec.. was a perfect morning to start out! along the way we came across some acceptable bouldering rock to play around on for a little while until we ventured onto the ridge before descending to canyon lake. sweet superstition hike!

Went a little out of our way by following shutte springs all the way to the salt river. At the salt, we came to a sandy beach which made a great place for lunch and a cool swim. Made our way back up shuttes and climbed the hill down into a washed out pinal creek canyon. Lots of great scenery and plenty of beaver marking down in the canyon!
