Beautiful day in the high 80s and trail conditions were excellent. The series of falls are visible for most of the trail, yet there are several obvious points of interest that are perfect photo opportunities. For train enthusiasts, the trail crosses a train track that has high traffic - and we got an opportunity to view a train from above on the pedestrian bridge that spans over the track.

The highlight of the short trail is a suspension foot bridge over the river which provides excellent views of the falls and river through the canyon. If you find yourself on Highway 2 in northwestern Montana, this trail is worth the short time it takes to hike it.

Quick hike on the Keyhole Sink Trail. The Forest Service has really cleared a lot of the forest since the last time we did this hike. Looks like work continues in the area as well. Several people out enjoying the warm morning and a chance to bring their dogs. Nice hike! No water in the sink, despite quite a bit of rain the last couple of days.

Beautiful day in northern Idaho and a great day for the Pulaski Tunnel Trail. Stream was flowing nicely and the trail was relatively busy. Good trail conditions - and the historical signage along the way is in good shape.

Great day for a hike on the Thumb Butte trail. Took the trail clockwise, but after completing the loop I think taking the trail counter-clockwise would have been a wise choice. Beautiful views along the way and wish we had more time for exploring near the butte itself, but alas only had time for a quick hike today. Not a fan of the blacktop - as I’m not sure it really makes the trail more accessible for anyone. Nice quick trail for someone looking for good views of the surrounding mountains and the beautiful City of Prescott!

Warm day, but pleasant enough for a nice quick hike down to the falls (dry of course). Several friendly hikers along the way as well. Some of the granite boulders are absolutely beautiful. Completed the normal hike down to the falls, but also some side hikes just to explore the area as well. Great day overall. Can’t wait to get back again soon.

Shortened this loop hike using the Connector Trail to make the loop about a 3.3 mile hike. Beautiful weather and the recent rain/snow has provided lots of green along this already scenic trail. Lots of mountain bikers (sigh), but otherwise a great hike today!

Nice cool weather for this hike. They’ve done a nice job building this trail and honoring the 19. Have wanted to do this trail for quite a while and glad I had the chance to do the hike and pay my respects to the fallen.

Didn’t have time to get to the peak today, but still enjoyed the great weather for about a halfway and back hike.

Quick hike to check out the Lynx Ruin Trail. Highlight was seeing a half dozen deer about 20 yards off the trail watch the five of us stroll by. Eventually they got spooked and tore off into the distance. We also hiked a bit on the adjacent trail near the trailhead to add some mileage, but it was getting a bit too warm to enjoy the exploration so we headed back to the AC of the car and headed to Prescott for lunch.

Quick hike up Mt. Union to visit John in the fire tower. Beautiful day, nice temps, a little hazy in the far reaches of visibility (dust must be kicking up off the desert floor). Very peaceful hike.

We weren't looking to set any land speed records. This was my first Rim to Rim, though I've hiked the Canyon a number of times. Started at the North Rim on the NK and came up the BA. Beautiful day, though definitely a bit warmer than my liking, but what did I expect in late May? :D

I'm glad I did the R2R at least once, but I think I'll stick with doing overnighters at Phantom in the future.
