This is a really fun hike. Make sure you wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet, because the trail is pretty much the creek in many parts. I went on a beautiful sunday morning and only saw 2 other people there all day. This would be a perfect trip for a hot sunny day, because you can swim at the end of it and you're in the water the whole way there. And also, the parking lot for the trail is after the creek, and the creek was almost 3 feet deep. I was worried the old nissan wasn't going to make it, but she pulled right through. I think a car with a lower suspension might be in trouble.

This is one of the coolest parks I have ever camped in. I can't say enough about this awesome park. It is unbelieveable to me that more people don't see this park every year. A must see if you live in arizona. Pretty easy hikes and awesome surroundings.

Fossil Springs is a really cool day hike. It's pretty easy as far as hikes go. I brought my pugs when I went and they were able to do it. I made it a day hike but there are really cool campgrounds at the bottom of the canyon and I'd like to camp there some time. Picture sitting by the campfire with the sound of rushing water nearby and a clear sky full of stars.

I was expecting this to be better than it was. The views are awesome, but as far as a hiking trail, you won't get much more than halfway up before the trail sort of disappears and you have to climb your own trail the rest of the way. As far as hikes in Sedona go, I still think mt. wilson is by far the best. The trail is clear the whole way, the view from the top is one of the most amazing things I've seen, and it's a great workout for a day hike. I didn't get much of a workout at all doing bear mt.

Of course I heard the warnings about going down to the river and back in one day, but I'm pretty fit as are my friends, so we did it friday and saturday as well. Friday we took bright angel down, and took it back up and not including the time we were observing at the bottom, it took us about 1 1/2 hours to get down, and 1 3/4 hours to get back up. Saturday we took the south kaibab trail down to the river, and then cut over to Bright angel and took that back up. By the end of the day saturday, I was pretty tired and sore, but what a good workout.

Great hike, if you didn't have to mess with the 3 miles beforehand. Saw a tarantula on the road part of the trail. If anyone knows how to get the base of the mountain on the road, please let me know. I would recommend this hike to anyone, bring lots of water!

Excellent day hike with amazing views at the top. It's cool to see the vegetation change as you go up in elevation. Hike around on the top of the mountain to the northeast corner of the plateau and you get a great view of the oak creek canyon.
