I've done three things with this hike:
1) I've done my hardest hike so far
2) I've made every muscle sore
3) I've earned every beer I drink today

What an absolutely amazing hike. I want to do this again! And Again! And Again!

just gimme a few weeks to recover...I was not prepared for that.

Tempted to bring the pooch with me next time I hit this trail. There will be a next time.

The path at the end, to Burro Cove, is not easy to maneuver and was loaded with bees on my attempt. Not much for bee stings, so I turned around just shy of the water line. Amazing views the rest of the way.

Incredibly dog friendly trail! My pooches first trip out in the snow since leaving the midwest and he had a TON of fun, though for smaller dogs (like mine) I would recommend a sweatshirt of some kind to keep them warm.

Water down the trail might be frozen over, depending on time of year. If it's flowing, it's clean (though, I wouldn't drink it...the dog was more than happy to).

I pulled a ditz move and did this trail in running shoes. While my feet were soaked at the end of it, it's still manageable. I wouldn't do it twice though.

Don't do this trail after a rainfall as it's hard to keep trail in certain areas. Don't do it alone if you're new to hiking. While South Mountain is fairly well traveled, this trail may not be.
