Fishing was pretty good but could tell all the pressure from others out there as well as the ones playing in the Water

Another great trip to West Clear Creek. I also was able to Find Almal's Resort and Spa at the 7 mile mark.
Started Sunday at 7:30, was up early and no traffic so was ready to go. Was nice to see the water low again when i landed at Crossing 1, Kinda misleading since ya dont cross at crossing 1.
The flowers are amazing right now, so many everywhere, I took many pics and many OOOO MYYYY stops, or as I would say in my Camper Trips Whinebago Joys    .
Like @Almal said all the crossing are wet now, no rock hopping or tree balancing so be prepared.
At crossing 2b I ran into a guy with 2 dogs, one had bandages on all 4 feet, poor guy :( , said he was licking his feet all night and licked em raw. I said maybe Poison Ivy, dog seemed in good spirits, Pit Mix, he was gunna carry him across the waters to help his feet stay dry. Only 1.5miles to go for them so Im sure they did ok.

Landed at crossing 3, decided to check out the HIDDEN campsite on my trip out, so onto #4. Landed at #4 at like 10:30... way to early to stop. I was kinda tired, hadnt hiked in like 5 weeks. Checked the map and it looked pretty flat the next 1.5miles to what I thought was @Almal's Restort and Spa, so I truged onward.
After about 1.5 miles or 45min I was scanning the trail for the Hidden access to the resort. I had a track on Rout Scout of peeps who went to the waterfall, so went to where they went down to the Creek and BAM! :y: Found the Resort.

Its a very nice, secluded spot. The Resort leaves you plenty of Fire Wood, xtra Tent Poles if needed. Fire Grate for Coffee or fish fry, and a Nice Recliner to relax in. 5 Star for sure.
So Now for my story, sit back and be ready to Laugh yer Arse off :o :D . So got my Water Bag full, filled my jugs and my belly and proceeded to get my nice little telescoping Ultralight Pole and Real setup. Tossed in my line right in front of Camp, made a few re-sets of my line, but didnt like the spot. Moved down the creek about 25', bigger pool with swirls like oil slick on top which meant pretty calm, slow water. Cleared out a spot, lots of brush at the edge of the creek here, got my pole holder, and tossed in my line. Let it sit a minute or so, didnt like the spot, so tossed it in a little more in front of me... YAaaaaa thats it. Set me pole on my holder.... hmmm... I need a sitting rock, turned around to look for one... BAM! :o FISH ON!!!.. I turn around as my pole LAUNCHES into the creek.... yup.. there it goes :scared: ...Ok I havent been here an hour and already LOST my pole... so I run down the bank, well kinda.. lots of brush. about 15' down I see it again, my pole (why I wear Polarized sunglasses), what to do.... wellp.. gotta get wet.. I strip off everything cept my Undies and my Shades... and off the pole goes again, right when I step into the creek upto my knees in muck ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) I crawl out, literally, and down the creek about 50' farther... and lo and behold, it stopped :y: At this spot its right before the fast water so gravel bottom.. YES!!! I can walk here.. so step in, remember Im barefoot and almost nekkid walking thru brush, sticks and god knows what. I get basically to the center of the creek, yup there is my Pole about 6' under water, only one thing to do... YUP... in I go... get to it on my tippy toes... snag it with my toes.. up she comes :D , only thing dry now is 1/2 my neck and my head... oh and the FISH is still on...LOL... was under a big rock and snagged on a stick.. un snagged him.. but couldnt get him out and he broke the line.. Well he deserved to get away after that ordeal.... Be free fishy.. be Free.
Went back to my clothes, and actually It wasn't that cold, now my toes hurt bad, stubbed em all like 10x
As you can see in my pics.. I added a safety device on my pole, to eliminate any more adventures... LOL.. and it worked, 1hr later caught a big one and the safety line worked like a charm.

Next Day I head down to Crossing #3 and scoped out the hidden spot. Really Nice, caught a nice diner fish there also. At night I broke a rule of sleeping, I braught in my snack bag into my tent  . I usualy just have Peanut M&M's for my late night hunger. Sometime at night I hear a scratching, the second Time I looked out just in time to see a Ringtail scoot into the brush. 1st time seeing one of em. So no more food in my tent.. I learned, luckily the easy not HARD way.

I was up early, and to my Rig at 930am. Was a great adventure and planing on heading back in a couple weeks

1st trip
Another fantastic trip into the Sups. Landed at Peralta TH about 830.. actually was on the Trail before 9am... a 1st...lol Was my 1st trip with my NEW Zpack Arc Blast 22oz backpack... loved it, so adjustable, not cheep but worth the price. I dropped about 1.5lbs from my Osprey Exos 48. My base weight was right about 14 lbs, and adding 4 lbs of food and 88oz water I left just over 27 lbs, my lightest trip yet. I knew I would find water, but kept it all in case I decided to go up to Whiskey Springs on the 1st day.

I didnt really have a Plan. Was heading up Coffee Flats to Dripping Springs, then it was up in the air from there, but was planning to be out 2 nights, that I did know.

Its funny, I had cell service for at least 3 miles into the hike till past the 104/108 intersection, ya just never know what to expect in the Sups. Pretty basic and nice hike for 1st 4.5 miles. Was nice and flat, great trail..... I come to a old corral and fence/gate went through. after bout .6 miles or so... figured I was close to Reeds Water.. checked Rout Scout.....lol... umm.. ya... never shoulda went through the gate... so after backtracking and loosing about 1-1/2 miles I was back on the trail. Finally saw the Windmill, well the 1st one, and proceeded to the creek. After another 1/2 mile search off the ACTUAL trail, again, I ended up back at the 2nd windmill, well to the east a bit. and made Camp.

Lots of cows sayin hey, not in camp, but down the creek. Saw some little Piggy Tracks, well lots of them, but none came and said Hi.. thankfully

Day 2...
woke kinda late, made coffee, still not sure of my day. wasnt really thinking of tackling a long day so didnt leave camp till almost 10am, my 1st mistake ](*,) ...lol
At dripping springs, very beautiful place, so much water and fantastic views..I was feeling very good so decided to head up Red Tanks and on to whiskey Springs, 2nd Mistake ](*,) ...lol
The trip from Dripping springs at 2480' to the High Point on Red Tanks at 3673' 4.83 miles in really wasnt to bad of a hike. I was feeling good and stayed nice and Hydrated which I tend to NOT do as I should. Now about 1/2 way I realized what people say about the Red Tanks... STAY AWAY!!!! :scared: :scared: ](*,) From my ankles to my head was bleeding or scratched.. Cholla Jungles...Living and moving Thorn bushes and Mazes.. lost the trail like 10x at least.. was a great hike....NOT.. But I was very proud of myself, physically, how I did on the hike. Now for the worst part, the decent into La Barge Canyon. Was probably the worst Trail Footing Conditions i've seen yet in the sups. Shear Cliffs and just a brutal hike down the canyon. I landed at the Red Tanks 107 and Whiskey Springs 238 Intersection about 315pm. I had been looking for a campsite close to water but didnt really see anything so I knew a couple near Whisky Springs so headed that way. Well at the springs, it was dry. One of the concrete basins had water, but it was nasty. I had seen some nice puddles just down from the springs, so I turned around and about 100yds south stopped at a campsite and just over the edge was a nice purty puddle...YES!!! Campsite and Water.

So my stats for Day 2 was probably the most extreme for me yet, I must be getting In shape. 8.87 miles in 5hr 47min (that part im not happy about) 1194' vertical feet and an AEG of 2131', never removed my pack all day but ate and hydrated well. Was a long day... by 4pm I had water and didnt even look for firewood. Made some burritos and started diner. Was in my tent by 6pm. Kinda blustery at night, and a few drizzles, but bone dry on the ground and my tent in the morning.

Day 3...
Figured today would be a breeze. Wasn't sure if it would rain or not. Made Coffee, broke down camp, and was on the trail at about 830. I put on my rain paints just in case, well they only lasted 1/2 mile and took em off. It was sooooooo warm out, almost 60 deg, so was heating up fast. Was a good call because the weather was perfect the entire hike out. At about 1 mile before the 238/104 intersection I had been seeing little Flags, then I met up with the crew of college kids doing trail repairs. Nice group of Kids, so the rest of my hike was pristine and perfect, new Cairns, cleaned trail, and nice new drainage channels.

Last 1/4 mile it started to rain a bit, but by the time I hit my car it stopped.. Great trip, learned a lot, and even closer to a very very light backpacking setup

Another Great trip into the Sups
I started at 1st water TH at 9am.. seems my normal starting time considering my drive from Glendale. I had my Hydro Pack with 1.5l and 2-24oz bottles. Figured I'd make sure there was water before I went in with just the Hydro Pack. Well by 1/2mile in, uh ya... water everywhere...lol... So dummped the 48oz of water.. and headed off.

Trail was pretty good, few spots from horses kinda mucky, but overall good. My plan was to head to the Boulder Canyon Trail..#104 and 103 intersection...Find a campsite.. and have a relaxing Day.

Like I said so much water, was incredible. Love the Sups when there is all the water... so beautiful.

Got to the 103/104 intersection. Not really any water right there.. so started down the Boulder Canyon Trail to look for a spot. Immediately i could hear the water. Man was it flowing nice, now to find a campsite... Found a sweet one about .3miles down the trail. Close enough to the creek i could hear the waterfall. Setup camp, had a toty, and started the relaxation process. Was a nice day and evening, was in the tent listening to my audio books by 630.

Out of the tent at 715. Man, I had never seen so much condensation on my tent and the ground... was like it rained. Took a bit ta get things dry, was back on the trail about 915 or so.

Was gunna be a short hike day but I'd nevver been on this part of the Boulder Canyon Trail, man was I in for a treat. There was sooooooo much water, I swear I had 15 water crossings in that short stint of trail. Beautiful Lakes, Waterfalls, intersections of other creeks, was just so so beautiful. Lets just say I stopped a lot...lol

Headed down to 2nd Water and Boulder Canyon intersection... Grabbed my site from my last trip.. and started the relaxation process again, Im getting good at it I must say. Started a nice fire around 4pm and then diner. The changing cloudes started rolling in around 530.. yup.. looks like rain. I hit the tent about 730 ish... and not long after the drip drip drip of rain started. It rained off and on all night... sometimes pretty hard, but mostly just a nice stead rain.

Woke at 630 ish, not raining. Got up to... well... nature call's. Was pretty wet outside, no puddles, but pretty damp, not much of a chance of a fire. So I figured i'd pack up, and maybe perk a cup of coffee, and hit the trail. Nice having the room in my tent to dress, organize, and pack my entire backpack (besides the tent of course).

As I popped out, it was really warm, was surprised at how warm it was all night. Started taking down the tent, man was it wet...lol. Luckily it didnt rain during my tear down, stuffed the tent and fly in my dry bag, onto the mesh on the outside of my pack... all done. It started to drizzle... so I decided to just head out, hit the trail right about 8am.

My new Rain jacket was Da BOMB... literally got it the day before I left. its a Outdoor Research Helium II. weights just over 6oz. It didnt rain much at first till I made it to Hackberry Mesa.. then it poured a couple times, awesome having the jacket... 2 thumbs up :y:

Got home at around 11am, and my new toy had Landed... Zpacks Arc Blast backpack.. Time to do some trimming and serious ultralight gear prepping...Ya Baby!! :app:

Fun times had for sure

Another Fantastic trip into the Sups. the weather was epic.. cooler Hiking, great at camp, and snuggly at night. My New Western Mountaineering bag and Xlight mattress where the toast of my trip. So comfy, and even sweated the last Night. Fun Times for sure

I hit the trail at 9am on Thursday. Passed about 30 peeps on day hikes, most asking me what my Plans where. Plan was to head to Charlebois 1st night since I knew it would have water. Then day 2 head to 2nd water/ boulder canyon intersection, then head out on Saturday morning.

The trip to Charlebois was great once I lost all the day hikers. My biggest surprise was NO WATER at all. Well i did see like 2 survival puddles but really expected to see more water along the way. Actually seemed warmer than the thermometer said...lol... so by the time I hit Charlebois I was ready to chill. I had never been to Charlebois, wow, very nice place indeed, and best part was I had it all to myself :y:

Made a Drink and prepped my diner of my World Famous beef alfredo with a side of Taters. New stove ,MSR Microlight, is fantastic, BUT, need to change how I prep my home made meals, it is o hot is scorches the bottom inside the pan. Ill fix it next trip. Diner was great, not a lot of wood so chose no night Fire so I had one in the Morning...

Up and made coffee and oats, fire, packed, and on my way. My intention was to fill all 3l of water bottles and re-fill my camelback....ummmmm... spaced some of that :scared: . Drank half of a 24oz jug and forgot to fill my camelback..lol. I remembered about 1mile into my trip to 2nd water. I wasnt to concerned, I had about 3l ish with me, so was fine, just would limit my Drinks :o :D
Again hardly any water. 2 spots with survival puddle and thats it. As I landed at the creek crossing at 2nd water I luckely found many puddles in those big rocks, cool, I have extra water. Then at 2nd water creek there was a light flow and lots of water, once ya find a clear puddle, which there was a few. remember that nice campsite a few yards up the trail by the BIG rock, found it, found a nice puddle right below it, and settled in.

found plenty of wood, had a Nice fire and relaxed. Great campsite, around 730 hit the Tent to read a bit. Heard a large group, sounded like women and men, oh GREAT college kids...... nope... was a heard of Boy Scouts..lol. Got out said hey, they had already sent a scout to find the big group area on the other side of the creek, they re-grouped, and headed off.. and I went to bed.

Was a great 3 days, talked to some nice peeps on the short trip out, educated some future backpackers on gear. Hit the ride at about 10am.. and headed back to civilization

Had a real nice time at West Clear Creek. Trail wasn't as flat as I assumed..lol.. but is a nice trail. Some of the Pools in the creek are so nice and some really beautiful scenery. the crossings are pretty simple. At Crossing #1 ya dont evene cross, maybe ya did in the past but not now. Crossing #2 has a log but most is under water, but with a 32# pack i decided to wade, which was good becouse about 200yds farther down the trail ya need to wade across again, so keep it in mind. I met a nice young lady doing a day hike on day 3 when I was camped at Crossing #2. She fell in both times crossing #2 at the second spot, poor thing, least she was just day hiking. Crossing #3 has a log which is above watter and fairly easy to cross. Crossing #4 is a wet crossing for sure, no way to Rock hop it.

I ended up being lazy and not hiking to the end of the creek trail. Guess Ill have to do it next time :) I stayed at Crossing #4 2 nights and the last night back at Crossing #2. Great campsites at both spots.

I met a older couple on day 3, with to little dogs. They said they saw some Bighorn Sheep. I knew I heard something dropping into Crossing #4. Was to loud to be a deer, big THUD of hoofs and then nothing. Wish I woulda seen it :?

Hope to have a Trail partner soon to share these trips with. I love hiking alone but sometime sharing it with someone is even more rewarding.

Ok lets Start my Trip Report #2 :wrt: :SB:

1st off Lets talk this Lovely 15mil of Dirt Road heaven ](*,) . Took me 1-1/2hrs to get from Paved to Trail Head. And 10miles of it, well, Id say have a 4WD or a Pickup, It’s a Nasty Road. I took Big Red, Thankfully, all 4drs 1 Ton Diesel Goodness of him. At 24’ well, maybe not the best 4WD rig But he climbs mountains and pushes Boulders outa the way if needed. My Honda Pilot would have been Fine But Id be concerned about a Flat Tire with those types of street tires. So just some food for Thought.

Pack was on at 8:45am on Wed… and Hour later than Planned and started down the Trail. 1.5mi down to the RR Trail wasn’t to Bad. Lots of Water and some Nice Views
At RR trail I started to get my groove. The Elevation was seeming to take a toll on me but wasn’t sure if I was just a bit outa shape, so I trudged on. Missed Reavis Grave. Dropped my pack and backtracked about 6min and found It… did the Obligatory Pic of his grave, and a selfy, wished him luck, and headed back to my Pack.
By Now it was getting Warm. The sun was beating down pretty good. I then decided it was the Heat and the Elevation (starting at 4880’) working on me, cuz Heck, Cant be just me.

After a few pics of Flowers I finally reached the saddle. I do have to say that the Trail up the saddle is a really really nice trail. I was impressed. Considering its Like 1000’ elev gain in 2miles its really not bad, but at 10am in 70deg, it was harder than I thought…..LOL… again was the Elevation and Heat, NOT ME!! :D
Hit the Top.. took a Pic… and trudged on down the Trail. There was water right there at the Top of the Saddle and a Nice Campsite, I noted it on my Rout.

The trip thru Reavis creek area was none eventful… the Alligator Juniper is a magnificent Tree. I stop Took a pic, and we talked for a few minutes. Great Tree… the stories he could tell, amazing tree indeed.
Back on the Trail… More campsites and more water and a few more pics. The meadows ya walk thru are sweet, was late in the day to see deer, so was hoping I would spot some the next day. Per my HAZ map I was following I should be almost to the Farm… ooo wats That.. Farm equipement.. then I see a Tent, and up a little Hill… OOOOOO the House Foundation… and Yup a Tent and 2 hammocks right where I wanted to camp.. Ok I really didn’t expect it to be empty, but I was hoping. So I went down the trail a Bit.. Nope.. Back to the spot at the very Far South end of the ranch with a Nice Stove and Fire pit.

Dropped my pack about 12:45…. Ahhhhhhhh finally here. This is a really beautiful place. As I spent more time here I could envison myself staying here a Long Long time. Water.. Great area to grow crops.. I assumed lots of Deer and I did see Rabbits and BIG squirrel, so lots of fresh meat… Yup I like this spot.
So I went and sayed HEY to my neighbors. 3 guys came in from Canyon Lake, they arrived a hour or so before me. They said a Large group had Just left where I was staying at, I said I assumed that since the Fire pit was still warm. P.S. over the next hour it started to smolder more… so be sure you put em out GOOD before ya leave, especially when its breezy like it was.

We talked for about 15min, showed em some trails on my map and phone, told em stories I knew/read about the area. They said they had planned to do some shooting if I didn’t Mind, heck no that’s cool, just shoot that way…lol. :gun: :gun: Nice Guys, so I went back to my camp ta get all setup and chill out a bit.
After I explored a bit I started prepping din din. This was a new One.. my SOON to be world Famous Seafood Ramanara… Noodles and my special dehydrated Shrimp, Crab, Chicken, and many many veggies…. OOOOOO was sooo Good…. Love my Gourmet Trail Food. And In bed at Dark…listening to my Audio Books, and relaxing.

Day 2…
Plan was to hike to Circlestones…um.. ya Right  … The Lure of the Ranch and LAZY took over. My neighbors where leaving so I would be able to freely explore the area, alone. I made my Egg Burritos…. So Good.. Eggs and Polenta Dehydrated… and lots of veggies and meat.

At 9am my neighbors finally departed… so My exploring began… went over and looked at all the cool machinery, dropped down to the little shelf by the campsite.. then down to the Big Pond below that.. what was that, turned to my left, and sexy yearling doe was watching me 10’ away :budrose: … Hi I said, she stood there sizing me up, so I pulled out my Phone/Camera and snapped a couple pics.. and she walked into the trees in the meadow. I followed her up and watched her and Mom forage a bit.. then they focused on the Trail into the Meadow… we had a visitor… So my Girls trotted off into the sunset, well the creek bottom anyways.

Think the guy I met is on here, does the Videos of his Trips, Im terrible with names. We talked for a few.. showed him the Apple Orchard, Nice buds on the trees, beautiful red buds… we parted as I was trying to get my Phone to do a MACRO pic of the Buds… NOTE TO SELF get a camera for the Next Trip.

Back to my Campsite…Was quiet the rest of the day, no hikers came by, just me chilling, Talking to my neighborhood Birds, Squirrels, gofers, and various other Critters. Audio Books, Great Lunch and EPIC diner… and in bed at sunset…

Day 3
Time ta head out. Up at about 630am, Packed up, drank some water, and on the trail at 715.
Was an Easy 1st 5miles, averaged almost 3mi/hr which was FANTASTIC for me. One of the little up hills in the valley, again, hit the Top, and this sexy sexy doe was watching me :kf: . She wasn’t sure what to think Of me, she backed up a bit since the tree branches kinda block our view of each other, we locked eyes, and my Camera, she turned, Dang White Tail Deer are cute, so used to the big Mulies Back in Oregon, she scampered out into the clearing and her and her 3 girlfriends left me alone in the clearing  . It was lost Love at 1st sight… They sure looked healthy and happy. And really didn’t seem to care about me…sigh… so off on my own, back to the truck.

Big Red was there waiting for me me at the trail head. Lots of Cars and 4wheelrs. Dumped my pack, drank some water, and Fired up Big Red for the 1-1/2hr nasty dirt drive out. I swear I passed 20 quads/razers and about 10 Trucks in the 1st 10miles. Trip out was only 1hr 15min since I knew the road better.. but man did it wear on me… my eyes where buggin out by the time I hit the paved road.

Oh Ya…. Anyone ever see a Velvet Red Ant before…. Was soo cool, glad I didn’t poke it, guess it’s a female wasp with No wings.. call em Cowkillers… was probably the Coolest thing Ive seen on my trips so far, well that and my 1st Trail love of the Doe I saw. :y:

Ok so what did I learn this Trip you ask... well ill tell Ya
1. LOVE my new Tent.. 2lb 5oz Complete with ground Cloth. Sets up easy and fast. Its a keeper.
2. My sleeping bad SUCKS..Thermarest self inflating yada yada yada. Think Ill do 2 thermarest RidgRest pads for next trip.. 1 small, 1 Large. I tend to sleep on my side hiking, funny, I sleep alot on my back at Home, so My Hips need more support
3. It got cold again at Night, love my Bag, but Im a nekkid sleeper but had ta wear a layer of clothes this time, May look into a 0deg or better bag
4. Love having my Phone for GPS, Trails and Tunes and Audio Book but need a Real pocket Camera, so need ta start shopping for one
5. I like chilling at camp, which is a surprise since im so Go Go Go at home. Think Ill do short in and out mileage next few trips... for a more relaxed time...

Sorry was a Long triplog…but I did have a great lazy time…. Now ta plan my next one

Well my 1st triplog... Hope ya Like it

Day 1
Started at First Water TH at 6:45am on Tuesday... and headed out counter clockwise. Thanks to ALMAL I knew there was plenty of water so dint bring a lot...
Trail was so nice compared to the Charlebois Loop I did in Jan... that was a ruff trail… sooooo wasn’t ready for Cardiac Hill….lol
Did Find Lots of water will Update the water reports today.. .7miles in and 1.11 miles in ta start with...Took my 1st break at 2.63 miles in. This was after I did a nice re-trace of my steps for .2mile to find my missing glove, which, was never missing... Kids I tell ya.
Was a nice easy hike till I got about 4.5mi in.. This was my 1st mistake, well 2nd after thinking I dropped my glove. I decided to take the Bull Pass trail over the Black Mesa trail.. oh geese… that was a mistake. Was a shale ridden straight up, straight down… Bet the Black Mesa woulda been easier, well live and learn I guess.
When I got to The Intersection of Bull pass and Dutchman trails… I couldn’t believe the water there.. but.. couldn’t find a campsite with shade.. so I decided to continue Up the Calvary Trial to where I thought More Campsites would be. At about 8mi in I found a Great spot. Lots of water, a small Pond I called Lake Marsh, great campsite with some decent shade.. so This is where I stayed.
I was a bit spent… was about 11am and was getting hot, over 70deg already. So I went to my lake and got me some water. Ended up drinking about 3L over the next hour, ate some trail food/lunch and chilled out for a bit.
I started listening to my Audio Book, Sword of Shannara. Was a Great Time killer and made the time pass a bit faster. After some nice wading in the lake, cleaning up, and staying Cool , I started my Gourmet diner at about 4pm. Todays menu was Jambalaya with Crab, Beef, and Veggies, including Serrano peppers. I had a Horse devour of Sesame Breadsticks while I waited for my Order to be completed . Man was it soooo Good… Trail food dosent need to be garbage if ya just spend a few hours dehydrating some great food to add to meals.
Sun was down now, so after diner, I cleaned up, set up my tent.. and by 6pm was layin down listening to my Book.
The day was a descriptive reason why people die in the Desert. Was as Hot as 85deg… and as was below 35deg at night…. Yup.. that’s the Arizona Desert for ya
So far 3 things I learned
1. Bring Camp shoes… help those feet feel nice
2. Bring a ground cloth. Was sucking moister outa the sand so used my emergency poncho on Night 2, helped a lot. Never got really Cold.. My bag worked great.. but ya shoulda seen the moisture inder my bag, under the ground cloth after Night #2..
3. Bring my Rain fly when its gunna be 35deg at night. Should keep more heat in the tent so maybe can sleep with my head outside my sleeping bag…lol. Im 6’2” so am scrunched when my head is insde my bag.. NOTE to self… Look for a larger bag
Day 2
Woke up at 630am. Slept pretty good… woke about every 2hours but rested pretty well. Started some water for Coffee…. Mmmmm… Coffee… started a small fire, man was it cold, 35deg at 7am
Wasn’t ready for Breakfast.. so packed up, doused the fire, said goodbye to Lake Marsh… and was on my way at 745am
Was a nice easy Hike…. Around the Boulder Canyon Trail Intersection, oh ya the last decent was kinda brutal, wouldn’t be fun going Up that. So at the intersection I met a nice young Couple who had Gotten Engaged the Night before.. so I was the 1st to know.. ooo wasn’t supposed ta say that… shhh don’t tell anyone…lol.. was Lots of water right there and found a couple Really nice campsites. So chatted a bit and was on my way. Trail crosses the creek a lot for about 1/2mi but easy ta navigate
Landed at the Boulder Canyon/Second water intersection at about 10am. The night before I debated about just heading out.. but it was already almost 70deg… and decided ta just chill out here for the day and night. Found a real Nice Campsite and some decent Shade. Lots of fire rings but most are wide open to the sun.
So grabbed a good spot and headed down to the water ta cool off, wade a bit, and get water. Lots of Big puddles, a light flow but some good movement for some decent clean puddles.
After a nice cool down, and a nice cold drink, I decided Brunch was in Order. On the Menu was my Scrambled eggs and Polenta with Ham, Black Beans, and Spicy chilli… for some Great Burritos. Man they got my order to perfection. With the Torts it made such a great meal… Dang Im a good cook.. so I sent my appreciation to the Chef again.
Ok this is where my OCD and lack of patience sets in.. Couldn’t Nap, just something I cant do, hit the creek about every 1/2hr ta chill and cool off, listened to my Book…. Rinse and repeat for 5hrs…LOl
So I kinda miss judged the suns path.. about 330pm I realized I wont loose it till after 5pm. No Biggy, relocated my little camp about 15’ North where some shade was growing.. and at 5pm started my Diner. The Chef had prepared another epic meal, Taco Mac and Cheese with Beef, Black Beans, Shrooms, veggies and some real nice KICK of spice…and the Sesame Bread sticks as my appetizer.
After my great meal.. the sun had gone behind the Hills finaly and I started to prep for Beddy by time.
Slept really well even with the SPOTLIGHT that was the moon.. some weird sounds, like a Frog, man they where talking for hours.. wonder what it was… did a search sounds maybe like a Desert Toad.. dint really sound like a Coati… so not really sure
Back into the tent about 615pm… and Finished my Book at about 730pm.. and passed out

Day 3
Another short hike today. Up at 630am.. no Coffee… packed up, cleaned up.. and on the trail at 7:15.
Was a busy Trail, I ran into 2 groups of about 10, and a few smaller groups, probably 35 people total, Parking lot was packed. This stretch was a lot easier than I figured. I wanna thank ALMAL again cuz he suggested a counter clockwise Trip, and I fully agree. With the Black Mesa Trail and the Full Boulder Canyon Trail you could have some shorter trips or just change up this one.
Landed at the TH about 945am ish.. stopped on the trail and chatted with many asking about my 3day trip.

Really did like this Loop. Oh ya, I swear I had a follower the entire trip. Saw a awesome Red Cardinal every day in the AM as I hiked.. we would talk for a few, then both go about our bisiness. He was the most exciting thing I saw… but the tweety birds and humming birds sure seemed to like me, and I loved the company

Thanks for reading all… Gunna try and upload Pics and a Rout as well
