Hikes similar to Fossil Springs
The group of friends I go hiking with likes to go hiking as long as there's "something fun" to do at the end. At this point the only hike they'll go on is The Fossil Springs Trail because of the rope swings at the damn. Don't get me wrong I love going there, it was my first trail, but I would like to go somewhere else for once. So my question is, do any of you know of any other trails that have something along those lines. Were all in pretty good shape and can handle the more difficult hikes, me and one other of my friends can handle some of the technical aspects, but we only have enough climbing gear for two. Thanks for the help...

Hey Collars,
You've got you're Big Dipper, Scheurman Mountain, Tonto Narrows & down right dangerous fun at Christopher Creek Gorge (Box Canyon).
Have a blast, they all ROCK! (minus one :rollH: )

Salome Jug as well.

Re: Hikes similar to Fossil Springs
Yeah, I had the exact same problems with my friends last year, except that when I took them to Fossil Creek they just about killed me afterwards because they were not aware of the hike out and how difficult it is (although it is not that difficult, they're just in bad shape). Anyway, my answer was West Clear Creek. About the same distance, and there is a rope swing there, which was the main attraction for us at fossil creek. You pretty much can park by the creek and hike as far upstream as you would like. Unfortunately, I'm not big on parking and then wandering around or whatever; I like to actually hike enough that I'm thoroughly taxed and don't feel like walking for a couple days. I eventually just started hiking by myself every weekend. Hopefully your friends don't drive you to start doing the same...
Difficult to find people our age willing to give hiking a real chance.
Anyway, West Clear Creek is good. Rope swing, cliffs, and perfect water. No solitude though...

Re: Hikes similar to Fossil Springs
My friends have seemed to agree on Big Dipper, after reading the trail log I was wondering though if you really need to bring a rope or not. Also any other advice would be apprecated. Thanks again guys, I've now have alot of hiking trips to plan.
