Half way up the mountain, looks like the Dakota is losing its Entrada?

Dakota Sandstone as a Caprock:
The Dakota Sandstone is a harder, more resistant rock formation that sits atop softer layers, like the Entrada Sandstone, in the Paria Rimrocks.

Erosion and Hoodoo Formation:
.Over time, the Entrada Sandstone below the Dakota Sandstone is eroded away by wind and water, while the Dakota Sandstone remains relatively intact due to its hardness. This erosion process leaves behind the distinctive hoodoo shapes, where the Dakota Sandstone caprock protects the pillar-like structure below from further erosion.
