Inside the Cathedral.

Dakota Sandstone lies in an area of south central Utah known as The Rimrocks. The base of Toadstool Hoodoo is Entrada sandstone and the caprock is Dakota sandstone. Its unique shape is due to erosion. Over time erosion wears away the softer Entrada sandstone while the harder Dakota sandstone remains relatively unscathed.
